Home
base: I live in Manhattan, Kansas. I am originally from
Oklahoma; Stillwater and Muskogee.
Career: I attended college at Northeastern State and Oklahoma
State University. I am a married mother of three beautiful, most precious
and awesome daughters. Lauren, my eldest, is 10. Autumn is 7, and IsaBella
is 2. Both Lauren and Autumn are involved in soccer. I work full-time as a
Sales Manager and Event Planner for the largest hotel in Manhattan. My
husband is a chef but has recently went through gastric bypass surgery and
is looking at making a career change. I am very proud of him.
Hobbies: Hobbies, what are hobbies
when you are a mother? I'm trying to be a true Proverbs 31 woman. It is
very difficult to balance family, career and extracurricular activities,
which is why Philippians 4:13 is dear to me as well. "I can do all things
through Christ who gives me strength." However, as the girls get older, I
hope to get back to some things I enjoyed and have the energy to do like
more exercising, singing in the choir, shopping, decorating, landscaping
and someday I would like to write a book.
Now that my husband feels better, he is able to
join me and the girls outside to play basketball, go on bike trails,
walks, and for the first time this summer, a water park!
Christian Since: I was raised in a
Christian home. I gave my heart to Jesus when I was 9 years ago. I
understood and didn't understand exactly the true meaning of a
relationship with Jesus. It wasn't until I attended a "Christ in Youth"
conference at the age of 14 where I truly experienced the Power of the
Holy Spirit. However at the age of 10, my parents divorced because of my
dad's infedelity yet both have been remarried for 20+ years to awesome
Christian people. Growing up, I felt like I always had to have a boyfriend
in spite of having a Godly, authentic stepfather. I got married for the
first time at age 19 because frankly I wanted to "grow up" and second I
knew that the pure way to lose my virginity was to be married. So I
married the first guy that asked. Stupid and immature. It didn't even last
a year. We had no children together thank goodness. I married for the
second time at age 23; again for the wrong reasons. I had my two eldest
daughters with this man. The marriage lasted 8 years. I remarried in 2007.
It has not been without it's ups and downs, but I feel that in spite of my
poor decisions, I have become much more aware of choices and how they
affect everyone involved in the situation. I do hope that as my children
grow in the Lord that they will regard me as what a true Proverbs 31 woman
is.
Why I love the Lord: Wow! It's hard to
even begin to write how much I do as tears fill my eyes and overwhelm my
heart with gratitude. I love the Lord my God, because he first loved me
even when I was unlovable and gave his Son up for me. About 5 years ago, I
went through a very dark time in my life and was contemplating taking it
to not have to deal with the pain of a very emotional time. I know because
of the prayers of my Mom and Dad as well as the prayer warriors in my
family tree, God brought me through it. Which brings me full circle on why
I chose Romans 8:28.
I love people and enjoy the business I am in because it is relationship
building. If I am able to be used by God as a source of encouragement in
and out of the church, then I am more than humbled to oblige. I am very
thankful to be a part of a ministry where people involved are fulfilling
"The Great Commission!"
