What Does the Bible Say About … WHY PEOPLE DIE?

Why do people die?

Death is a consequence of sin. Romans 6:23, TLB. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

What the serpent, the devil said to our first parents was a lie: Gen 3:4 You will not surely die,” the serpent said to the woman. NIV

Death entered our world as a consequence of sin.

The good news is that death is not terminal for those who believe.

What does Jesus promise those who die? Hosea 13:14, NIV. “I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death.”

Resurrection power comes from Christ. I Corinthians 15:21-22, NIV. “For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.”

Why did God give His Son to the world? John 3:16, NIV. “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Will you accept His offer?

“When we read the Bible in Genesis from Chapter one to three, there is an answer.

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Chapter 1:1 In the creation God created man.

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them….. Chapter 1:27 & part 28 “….the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Chapter 2:7

Everything was perfect. This female and man were sinless that could live eternally. However, this female and man made a huge mistake. “……. Who told thee that thou was’t naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.” Chapter 2:11 to 13

Because of their sin, they have to return where they were from.
“In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou retrun unto the ground; for out of it was thou take: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” Chapter 4:19

But there is also a good news. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 Amen!
God bless.
Love”

“God is so good! I believe we do not fully comprehend this thought. There is so much bad these days that goodness seems to be a phenomenon. When God created this world, it was not His intention that it be like this. Death was not a part of His plan. He said that His thoughts of us are peace. We can also see from His very many, precious promises that He wants the best for us.

However, when man from the beginning chose to disobey God and do exactly what He asked them not to do, then the whole scenario changed. Death became inevitable. “The wages of sin is death” However, Paul hastens to add that the gift of God is eternal life. Right here we see who is the author of death. Certainly, not God!.

Because man SINNED, death came upon the human race and we are all subject to this grim reaper, even the newborn who is not a “conscious” sinner. But, the good news is , God has promised to get rid of this unwelcome guest when He comes again and breaks the power of sin in our lives. Ö Death, where is thy sting, O grave, where is thy victory? What joy! yet what a pity!

Many people because of disobedience will actually miss the full manifestation of God’s goodness towards us because they wont be there to to experience it. But those of us who make it will “taste and see that the Lord IS GOOD, and not only taste but take full draughts daily, yea momently. forever and ever. What a day that will be! Aren’t you anxious to see that day? May we all prove faithful until then.

“Why do people die? There are many reasons as to why people die, my answer would be we live for the Lord and whether we live or die we belong to the Lord. We also die that we may be with Christ and have eternal life, also we die so we will gain by having the beginning with Christ a greater life. Jesus bore our sins in his body as he hung from the cross so we might die and live righteousness . We have life after death, and this way we have a better life than we had here on this
earth.”

“I think people die to bring others to Christ or closer than they were before, it makes you think how our life is like a vapor it can dissipate at any given moment. Therefore we should live today like it’s our last. When we loose someone, we want to know where their going to be and know that they’ll be okay, I think having a relationship with Christ brings us close to them too. But he also brings peace to us when we ask for it, and then you start to believe He’s really there.”

“When God made this world death was not on His plan. He wanted Adam & Eve to live forever. God said to them not to eat, neither touch the tree which was in the midst of the garden because if they would they would die (Gen 3:3).

“In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”
(Gen 4:19)”

“First define “die” (separation from God). Note in Gen.2:17 God said the day man eats of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he dies. Adam par- took, and thus in that day (which is as a 1000 years, it says in Peter), Adam died (ie, before he reached 1000 years of physical age). Of course Adam also died spiritually, and this spread to all men, as evidenced in Rom.5:12. Thus, people die primarily because of the sin nature as passed down by Adam. Eternally, this happens at the Great White Throne Judgment (Rev.20:11-15), where to die is eternal separation from God. Many make the mistake to assume death means annihilation, but Biblically this is not true. Everyone will spend eternity somewhere, either in death or in life through the Author of Life, Jesus Christ.”

“When Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of knowledge, they were disobedient (sin) to God’s command not to eat of that tree. God drove them from Eden and thus prevented them from eating of the tree of Life which would have made them immortal and I believe God to be merciful on His part for not allowing it.”

“The reason we have physical death is because of Eve’s temptation & because she tempted Adam & they both ate of the fruit that was forbidden. The story is in Gen. 3. The whole chapter deals with the temptation & the sin, but v. 22 – 24 is where God says that now man now knows good from evil & will no longer eat from the tree of life & live forever.”

“2 Cor 7:10 “Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.”

On this scripture 2 Corn. 7 : 10 , Paul is identifying 2 kinds of
sorrow, sorrow that leads to repentance, this kind of repentance leads to salvation that makes a change in our heart and this change causes us to turn from sin to God. Then the next one is worldly sorrow . The unrepentant often becomes sorrow only for the consequences of their sin and this sorrow results in eternal death and judgment. Romans 6 : 23 , for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. This should answer also as to why people die.”
