What Does the Bible Say About … The JUDGMENET DAY?

If God has forgiven all of our sin, then when the Judgment Day comes, what will we be judged on?

PREAMBLE:

“And, as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement” Hebrews 9:27 “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the vil and the good” Prov. 15:3 “But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall pseak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement” Matthew 12:36. “Be not deceived, God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that he shall reap” Gal. 6:7 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” – Romans 3:23a. “For the wages of sins is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus. (KING JAMES VERSION OF THE BIBLE)

DISCUSSIONS:

Proverbs 11:21 “You can be very sure the evil man will not go unpunished forever. And you can also be very sure God will rescue the children of the godly.

Every sin will definitely be judged, so also no sinner will go without being judged. The righteous will also have their part. Let those who are righteous continue in their righteousness. Let those who are ungodly repent now before the terrible day of the Lord.

With this understanding we need to still note that the fact that for everyone who has placed his/her faith in the Lord Jesus his/her sins has been judged already. The Lord Jesus Christ on the cross at Calvary did this. Let’s read this good news:

John 3:18 “There is no eternal doom awaiting those who trust him to save them. But those who don’t trust him have already been tried and condemned for not believing the only Son of God.”

Isaiah 53:4-5 “Yet it was our grief he bore, our sorrows that weighted him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, for his owns sins!. But he was wounded and bruised for our sins. He was beaten that we might have peace, he was lashed and we were healed!”

Usually no one is punished twice for the same offence. Since Jesus stood for us and was judged in our stead we were already dealt with. Actually He came to do it for us with the permission off God He released Himself to be judged because of you and me. But are we living a justifiable life to make him glad everyday? Are we not trying to crucify Him the second time by our actions, behaviors and utterances? We need to examine ourselves. We need to weigh ourselves on the scale of God. Don’t belief that once saved, you are saved forever. You need to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. Don’t judge Christ the second time!

THE OBLIGATION OF THE CHRISTIANS

After the Lord Jesus had saved us from our sins, He committed some work into our hands. There are things expected of us to be done, some of these includes making disciples of all nations, loving one another, becoming an ambassador for Him here on earth.

Matthew 28:19-20 “Therefore go and make disciples in all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Sons and of the Holy Spirit, and then teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you; and be sure of this – I am with you always, even to the end of the world”

John 13:34-35 “And so I am giving a new commandments to you now – love each other just as much as I love you. Your strong love for each other will prove to the world that you are my disciples”.

2 Cor. 5:20 “We are Christ’s ambassadors. God is using us to speak to you: we beg you, as thought Christ himself were here pleading with you, receive the love he offers you – be reconciled to God. For God took the sinless Christ and poured into him our sins. Then, in exchange, he poured God’s goodness into us!”

We have a great obligation to the whole world. To the sinners first and to those who have been redeemed by the blood of the only Son of God.

THE COMING JUDGMENT

“1 Cor. 3:13-15 “There is going to come a time of testing at Christ’s judgment Day to see what kind of materials each builder has used. Everyone’s work will be put through the fire so that all can see whether or not it keeps its value, and what was really accomplished. They every workman who has built on the foundation with the right materials, and whose work still stands, will get his pay. But if the house hw has built burns up, e will have a great loss. He himself will be saved, but like a man escaping through a wall of flames”.

At the coming judgment we will need to face the truth of our faithfulness to Him in all these. In another word our work shall be judgment. Our works shall be tested with fire. If they stand we will receive the reward, if not we may suffer loss.

CONCLUSION:

Ezekiel 18:21-23 “But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins and begins to obey my laws and do what is just and right, he shall surely live and not die. All his past sins will be forgotten, and he shall live because of his goodness. Do you think I like to see the wicked die? Asks the Lord. “Of course not! I only want him to turn from his wicked ways and live. “However, if a righteous person turns to sinning and acts like any other sinner, should he be allowed to live? No, of course not. All his previous goodness will be forgotten and he hall die for his sins”.

Friends, if you have not been born again, you need to do something about it today. Religion will not pay you at all. From the above, we can see the seriousness that God Almighty has attached to the salvation of man. He loves you and would love to see you justified on the Day of Judgment!

What a great question. NOTHING! There are millions of professing Christians in the world who do not know the answer to this question. Many look forward in trepidation to the judgment wondering if they will be found good enough. Many are so concerned in this life that they, as it were, carry a list of do’s and don’ts around with them, worrying all the time that they will make a mistake and not be found worthy.

The truth of the Gospel message is that there is NOTHING that anyone can do that will get us saved. No matter how good a life we lead, it will not blot out our sins. Even if we give our life for others, it will not help because OUR lives are polluted and unworthy. None of the Apostles, not Moses, not Elijah who was translated without knowing death, not Mother Theresa, no one can enter heaven on their own merit. The only way is if Jesus, the Son of God, takes us as His client, and stands as advocate for us in the heavenly court.

Acts 4:10-AV Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, [even] by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

Acts 4:11-AV This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

Acts 4:12-AV Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Jesus took our guilt upon Himself and died in our place. He has paid the penalty for every sin ever committed by anyone in the human race including those yet to be committed. Does this mean we all are saved? NO! It means we all CAN be saved if we will believe in Him and accept His sacrifice as applying to each of us, personally. We have a choice who we will follow.

John 3:16-AV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

We must understand it is not what we do that leads to salvation, it is what Jesus has already done. Satan is beaten, the war is over. The victory belongs to Jesus and His offer to us is to join Him, all who will. When we accept Him into our lives, a new Holy nature is ‘born’ within us. That nature grows in strength as it is fed and eventually goes a long way to subduing the carnal human nature which continues to exist alongside it. This process is called ‘sanctification’, and will naturally produce good works in those who are part of it. However, from the moment of acceptance of Jesus, warts and all, like the thief on the cross beside Him, we have eternal life. No one can snatch us from His hand.

John 10:28-AV And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any [man] pluck them out of my hand.

John 10:29-AV My Father, which gave [them] me, is greater than all; and no [man] is able to pluck [them] out of my Father’s hand.

This does not mean we can’t be lost by our own decision. We retain our right of free choice. While ever we ‘want’ to continue with Jesus, no power on earth can prevent it.

Having set the scene… Let us now look at judgment.

Romans 8:1-AV [There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

No condemnation, nothing to answer for. BELIEVE IT!! God cannot tell a lie because He is Truth.

Revelation 3:5-AV He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Revelation 20:12-AV And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Revelation 20:15-AV And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 21:27-AV And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither [whatsoever] worketh abomination, or [maketh] a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

I picture this book of life as a list of all those who belong to Him, against whom there is no condemnation. The other books contain a record of the details of the details of the lives of every one of us. When the record of sins is consulted there will be blank spaces in it where our records used to be. Jesus will have blotted them out!

Psalms 51:9-AV Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.

Isaiah 43:25-AV I, [even] I, [am] he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

Isaiah 44:22-AV I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

Acts 3:19-AV Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

At the judgment, the dead are judged by their works and if their name is not in the ‘book of life’ they get burned up. If your name IS in the book of life, no worries. Is your name in Jesus’ book of life, dear reader? If it is not or if you are not sure, get on your knees, or stand up, or sit, or in whatever way you can, adopt a humble posture, confess your sins to Jesus really regretting having done those bad things, because by doing them, you have added to His suffering; ask Him to forgive you and help you not to do bad things any more. Then get up and lead a new life of learning about Jesus and doing whatever it is that you can to help others find the same safety; and KNOW that your name has not been blotted from the book of life.

That is a very contradictory question. As long as you received Jesus as Lord and Savior and know in your heart that you are saved there is definitely no problems to worry about.

We that have been forgiven of our sins will not be judged. It is the ones that have not been forgiven of their sins that will be judged, and that is the day that we finally know we have been forgiven of our sins.

Hello,

As children of God — the most high, we have nothing to fear or be afraid of. In ancient times, to sin meant same as “to miss a mark” or to miss the target in shooting with an arrow. Thus, in my opinion, the judgment day has a deeper spiritual meaning. It is nothing to be afraid of. You will be provided a chance to overview your entire life…this will happen in a completely loveable and wonderful way with nothing to be afraid of. God does not torture anyone of us…he loves us unconditionally, and all he offers to us is his wonderful love!

How we serve Him till He comes back just like those servants who were given the 1, 5, and 10 talents to serve their master and two of them did something and were given more when the master returned in the same way we will be given responsibility in His kingdom on earth when He returns depending on what we did with the gifts He gave us. We will probably be judged for all the sins we haven’t repented of, like the ones we committed before we became Christians.

I think I’ll would be judge on how good I was to others, Did I consider others feelings, their needs. Was I there for them? Did I sit there in their time of need in quite and just listen to them? Did I help when God asked me too? Was I good to myself and I did I forgive when someone had done me wrong and forgive not by the words of forgiveness but by showing it from the heart? I believe that I’ll be judge on Did I go to God just in bad times but in the good times and did I always thanks to God for what he has done for me no matter how big or how small. I know that God will judge me on the most important issue. How much do I love HIM just for himself. Not for what he can do for me but just to love HIM because I do.

I believe that at the judgment seat of Christ, we will be judged according to the way we lived our life after we accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. Bad works will be burned up, we will escape any further judgment because of Christ’s finished work on the cross.

On judgment day we will be judged according to our deeds, including the acts of our tongue, because deeds are the infallible sign of what fills the heart. “From the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks.” You can judge a tree by its fruit and you can judge a heart by its deed. The issue is not really, Are we saved by faith in Christ or by good deeds? The issue is, On the judgment day how will God make manifest that His judgment is just? And the answer is, He will certify to the world that we have saving faith by calling our deeds to attest to its reality.

Jesus spoke of the judgement day when he walked among men. He said “Every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of’ Judgement” Matthew 12:36. “He that rejecteth me and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him. The word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day” John 12:48. Jesus spoke of a day of judgement on the last day. He said that two kinds of words were important: what we say and what he said. We will be judged by his words and by our words. This means that we need to pay attention to what we say and to what he says in the Bible.

But how can we be sure that there really will be a day of Judgement? We can be sure there is a judgement because he proved there would be a Judgement by his own resurrection from the dead. The apostle Paul said, “God now commandeth all men everywhere to repent because he hath appointed a day in the which he will judge the world by righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained, whereof he hath given assurance unto all men in that he hath raised him from the dead” Acts 17:30,31. “For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ, that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to what he hath done whether it be good or bad” II Corinthians 5:10. We can be sure that there is a judgement day and we can be sure that everyone on earth will be there.

The climax of the judgement scene is recorded by John in the last book of the Bible, the Book of Revelation. “And I saw a great white throne and him that sat upon it from whose face the heaven and the earth fled away, and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God and the books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the book of Life, and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it and death and hell (Hades) delivered up the dead which were in them and they were judged every man according to their works.” Revelation 20:11-13.

Here are some clear facts from the Bible about the judgement: Fact No. 1: Man must give account of himself on the day of judgement. (Matthew 12:36; Romans 14:10,12). Fact No. 2: All of us shall appear at the judgment. (Acts 17:31; II Corinthians 5:10) Fact No. 3: We’re to be judged by how we measure up to the word of God. (John 12:48; Revelation 20:11-13) Fact No. 4: We need to get ready for the judgement day. (II Corinthians 5:10; Matthew 12:36-41) Now if Jesus is going to be the judge and his words are going to be the standard or rule by which we are judged it becomes very important that we learn what his words are. In the great sermon on the mount he said, “Not everyone who saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name and in thy name cast out devils and in thy name done more wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you. Depart from me you that work iniquity” Matthew 7:21-23. Those who do his will, will not receive this condemnation and punishment. What will you say at the judgement?

God said , ‘if we confess and admit our sins to him, He will forgive us our sins’, and not when we continue in our sins  without repentance. He will therefore visit his wrath on an un-repented soul.

In Hebrews 6:10 it reads, “God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.” “God would be out of character if he forgot everything we did”- charles stanley. Judgement is specifically to look at the works we have done on earth. And its about the rewards for those works. In 2 Corinthians 5:10 it says, “For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due to him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.” Also, in Revelation 20:11-13, it reads, “Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done.”

According to the Bible, Christians will not be judged for our sins. We are covered by the blood of Jesus and our sins are washed away, as far from us as the East is from the West. Christians will be at the Bema Seat where we will receive our rewards for the work we have done for God in furthering His gospel. This is a reward, not a judgement. The unsaved will be judged for their acts, and they will be condemned because their acts, no matter how right they were, are as filthy rags in the sight of God. They will be judged for the acts because God has nothing else to judge them by as their name is not found written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

On the day of Judgment it will be for those who reject Christ and turn their back on the Lord, he gives all grace and to come to repentance, but there is a wide road that leads to death, and the narrow road that leads to life everlasting with Jesus. we all have a choose which road we will go down. there is a cross way in the road. which way will you go. Jesus is the way, truth and life. and wants all to come to repentance, for he is not slack concerning his promise, choose this day who you will serve. life or death. it is up to you. choose life in Jesus Christ!

I would like to say that we are forgiven under the Blood of Jesus when we (Acts 2:38) Repent and are Baptized in Jesus name for the remission of our sins. We may be forgiven of those sins, yet we need to as Paul says, “Die Daily” in other words, repent of our sins daily, & strive to sin no more. Until the day we die or go by the way of the rapture we need to be ready by keeping our lives Holy & Clean unto God. There are things you would not even know are sins unless you are in the word deeply enough to understand it well. We never know when it is going to be our time. That is why it is essential that we know we have done all we can possibly do to keep as clean as possible. Without his spirit we cannot enter in. His precious gift of the Holy Ghost will help us keep ourselves clean. I hope I have helped, Lord Bless all of you in Jesus name

Based on what little information I have:  When we ask for God’s forgiveness he forgives them and hides our sins in the sin of forgetfulness never to remember anymore.  We are judged on sins that we do not ask forgiveness of.

___________ What Judgment Day means in this context is Reward day. The bible says that all our works will be tested by fire (1st Corinthians 3:12-15) to see if it be of gold, hay or stubble. Then we believers will be rewarded according to the outcome of our tried works. Now this does not apply to unbelievers because they are not saved. Theirs is indeed a Judgment day because they did not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ; so they will be judged based on their unrighteousness and refusal to believe in God’s Son. For believers, because we are already made righteous (as the word of God says), we will be rewarded according to our works. Some will be given crowns of life, tree of life, hidden manna, new white stone etc (Revelations 2 & 3). The bible suggests that some believers will not get any reward ( It is difficult for the righteous to be saved and some will barely escape after passing through the fire) because they did not lay up treasures in heaven. But they will be saved, but no reward.
