What Does the Bible Say About … ASKING ANGELS FOR HELP?

Is it ok to sometimes ask for Angels help?

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is Bible.jpg

Let me answer this through a series of questions that are answered by God’s Word. Remember that every word in the Bible is inspired by God’s Spirit (2 Tim 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.) And should be our guide in our life.

1. Through whom do we have access to our Heavenly father? Through angels? Through dead relatives? Through saints? …

John 14:6 “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” NIV

1 Tim 2:5-6 “For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men-the testimony given in its proper time.” NIV

The Scriptures are clear on this: only through Jesus Christ we do have direct access to our Heavenly Father. He is the One who paid the price for this. No one else qualifies!

2. Who answers our prayers? Angels? Dear relatives? Saints?…

John 14:13-14 “And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” NIV

It’s Jesus Himself who answers our prayers. Only Him!

3. What is the function of angels?

Heb 1:13-14 “To which of the angels did God ever say,

“Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”?

“Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” NIV

Angels are ministering spirits serving the saints (us) on earth. God is in charge over them.

4. Do angels help us directly or are they sent by God?

Ps 34:7 “The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.” NIV

Dan 6:22 “My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions.” NIV

Acts 27:23-24 “Last night an angel of the God whose I am and whom I serve stood beside me and said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you.” NIV

Notice that all these texts underline the fact that they are angels of God and thus are sent by God directly. Daniel is even more specific, God is the one who sends His angels to help us. They don’t decide by themselves if they should help us or not.

With this being the case, why would we even consider praying for their help? If Jesus is our mediator and He cares for us, why would we even consider anyone else’s help? Let us pray directly to our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus and eagerly wait for His help, which He will always provide!

Let me give you an illustration. I order some of my Bible software over the Internet. I write to the company and pay them, and then through the means of the post office, they send me the program I ordered.

What would happen if I said to myself: “Instead of always contacting this software company, why don’t I contact the post office instead? Aren’t they the ones who deliver my software? It’s not the software company that does that. Let me contact the post office directly!

Would I get my software? No! In fact the post office would probably completely ignore me or if they took the time to reply to my request, they would say: “Contact the software company!”

It’s the same with angels. They deliver often times the help that God is sending us, but they receive their orders directly from God. God is the provider! Not the angels!

5. Can we worship angels?

Rev 22:8-9 ” I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me. But he said to me, “Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers the prophets and of all who keep the words of this book. Worship God!” NIV

The answer is clearly No. We can only worship God.

6. Are there other angels besides God’s angels? Could I pray to them instead?

2 Cor 11:14-15 “And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.” NIV Rev 12:9″The great dragon was hurled down-that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.” NIV

Matt 25:41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.” NIV

1 Peter 5:8-9 “Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.” NIV

Yes, there are the fallen angels directed by Satan himself. Praying to them will have everlasting consequences to your eternal life. Is it worth it?

Conclusion:

Ps 91:11 “He will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.” NIV

Let us remember it is God who commands His angels to help us. God is our provider. Not the angels. Let us, through Jesus, pray to Him, and He will answer your prayers. He always does.

It is never ok to ask angels for help!

1) The word angel comes from the Greek word for messengers, but they are not your messengers, they’re God’s!

2) There is only one mediator between God and us: The Lord Jesus Christ! Why go lower than that?

3) Any angels that volunteer to be your messenger is a fallen angel called a demon! It is common for Satan to send one of his messengers to humans to deceive them into a relationship. The new age movement calls this channelling and these demons come cloaked as dead humans (ghosts), Atlantis people, aliens and as God’s messengers. They are all demons if they come to you to do your will!

4) God’s angels do his will, not your will.

5) If your life is surrendered to Jesus Christ then you can enter God’s throne room of grace through the Holy Spirit within you. If you are speaking to God and do not trust the Bible (Old and New Testament) then be very very careful, for you are not informed of Satan’s ways.

ps I have seen this happen personally. The women involved found talking to “angels” an easy step in their Catholic faith. They have since repented. Angels in the Bible always direct people towards worshipping God!

No, It isn’t. Because we are not to ask anyone for anything EXCEPT our Father in heaven. We aren’t to pray nor to worship angels.

Revelation 22:8,9 tells us that angels are fellow servants, and we should not worship them.

1 Timothy 2:5 tells us: “For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,”

Isaiah 45:5 says: “I am the Lord, and there is no other; besides me there is no God.”

John 14:6 says: “Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through me.

Jesus taught us how we are to pray in Matthew 6:9-13. Pray, then in this way: Our Father who art in heaven. Notice that we are to pray to Our Father in Heaven. No one else!

It is fine to ask God to send His angels to help. Luther used to pray, “Let your holy angel be with me, that the wicked foe have no power over me.” However, the object and focus of our prayer is always to be our gracious God, not the angels. By His mercy and command the angels are sent to our aid. They are subjects of God and servants to do His will. They do not operate by their own authority or by our authority.

Dear brethren,

I wish sincerely to respond to this question. The answer is strictly NO! Why? Here are some of the dangers we can put ourselves in.

By asking help from a being we do not see is some kind of worship. By requesting help from the angels then means we have started worshipping them instead of God, worshipping the creatures instead of the Creator. Even the angels refuse to be worshipped (Revelation 19: 10). Worship of angels is some kind of idolatry.

If we want angels assistance we should not communicate to the angels themselves for they have no powers to respond to our demands themselves apart from the command from the throne of God. We should ask the father for assistance who will then send the angels to assist.

It is only the evil angels who move around listening to the people who are asking the help of angels and jump to that chance and masquerade as the angels of light, then give the assistance, God of heaven could not have given. God Is So Good To Give Us What We Require But Later Come To Affect Us.

If we are righteous Christians, we do not have to request angels to assist us since they already are around you and commanded by God to protect us and assist us on only doing what is good (Psalms 34:7).

If we embark on requesting assistance of the angels we may end up in devil worship for satan masquerades as the angel of light.(2 Corinthians 11:13-15)

Notice what this inspired writer says in the book Spiritual Gifts Vol. 4 118-119

“The Son of God in this age will be as virtually despised and insulted by corrupt men who pretend to be good men, as at his first advent. Satan is now transforming himself into an angel of light, to hide the deformity of his character, and thereby he and his evil angels receive that worship from a blinded, deluded people, which belongs alone to God. Christ is trampled under foot. Virtue and holiness are despised. Evil angels whisper their low, corrupt teachings in the ears of men, and they are pleased. Their carnal minds are gratified. That which comes from Satan and hell they make themselves believe comes from the spirits of the dead. Their consciences are seared as with a hot iron. When the Son of God came into the world to die, man’s sacrifice, he laid aside his glory and exalted stature. His height was but a little above the general size of men. His personal appearance bore no special marks of his divine character, which would of itself inspire faith. Yet his perfect form, and dignified bearing, his countenance expressing benevolence, love and holiness, were unequaled by any then living upon the earth.”

May I inform you that those who keep on asking the assistance of the angels are not true worshippers of God? Most of them are “New age Christians” who have merged true Christian worship with old pagan practices of occult in what is called syncretism.

These angels then become their “masters”. Some think these are righteous angels while others think they are dead relatives or as many new age priests claim, those evolved righteous men of the past. But the truth of the matter is that, these are demonic angels who transform themselves into other characters to deceive even the elect.

Brethrens, I sincerely request you never to turn to this modern devil worship which is eating us into the world. We should worship the one who made Heaven, Earth, and everything in it. This is the one Who died for us in the cross to save us. He is so much with us that even before we start praying he already knows our problem.

May God bless you very much praying that you will follow the warnings in the word of to never worship angels but to the creator only.

I feel it is quite ok if we ask for angels help sometimes. My reason being is that we as lowly human beings are not always able to handle life’s situations and trials and we need something or someone to depend on. When we call on our angels who are always there to assist us our answer may not necessarily come in the form of an Heavenly being appearing or speaking to us but the answer may come in the form of another earthly human being who was sent by God to represent your angel at that point and time in your life when you called on your Heavenly guardian.
